Hi, I'm Dave! I teach guitar in person at the Music Room and virtually. I've been playing guitar and obsessing about music for over 30 years.
My love for music began when I was a child. I was lucky to grow up in a household where music was always present. During family get-togethers, I watched my dad and uncle play guitar and sing songs along with the rest of the party. I quickly realized that music is something special and I was drawn to it. I picked up my dad's acoustic guitar when I was around 7 years old and never looked back, spending countless hours learning riffs from artists like The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and Led Zeppelin.
I'm thrilled to share my love of music with students in the Park Slope area and all over the US. Teaching allows me to combine two of my biggest passions: music and helping others grow. My background as a corporate trainer has given me the ability to break down big concepts into small, manageable steps — and to make the process genuinely fun. I believe teaching is about more than sharing information; it's about making a real connection and going on the journey side by side.
I run two structured programs: the Campfire Guitarist 1:1, a six-month private coaching program, and Campfire Guitarist Foundations, a six-month group learning program for adult who are early in their guitar journey. Music has brought me countless hours of joy and I hope to help you find that too.
