Pete Ayres

Teaches Voice, Piano and Songwriting 

Pete Ayres is an accomplished musician, songwriter, and dedicated educator in New York City. As a working artist, he brings a wealth of real-world knowledge to his teaching, drawing from his extensive experience as a performer and touring musician.

With over a decade of teaching experience, Pete works with students of all ages and levels, from beginner to advanced. As a teacher, his most important responsibilities are listening and providing honest feedback. Lessons are tailored to your learning style, with a focus on songs and material that will inspire you. It's his goal to help you become a more well-rounded and expressive musician.

After earning his BA in jazz voice and piano, Pete released three albums with his singer-songwriter project and two EPs with his jazz trio. His performance credits include renowned venues and music festivals nationwide, such as the Blue Note, Birdland Theater, Brooklyn Bowl, Bowery Ballroom and the Hippodrome and Tower Theaters. He has also been a featured artist at the Jazz on the Lawn series in Atlanta, and performed as a member of The Young New Yorkers' Chorus on the popular NPR show "Radiolab" and Carnegie Hall.
