Renée Serritella

Teaches Piano, Guitar, Voice, & Songwriting

Renée is a versatile music teacher with over 14 years of experience. She specializes in working with children and teens. With each student, she develops a curriculum that is in line with their individual goals. Renée keeps lessons fun while helping students discover their musical voices. She teaches rock, pop, folk, classical, and songwriting. It brings her joy to see her students become more confident musicians and songwriters.

Renée has a BA in music from Columbia College Chicago, and an MMEd (Master’s degree in music education) from VanderCook College of Music. She has toured the US with various bands and ensembles over the years including an indie-rock quintet, a 10-piece chamber rock ensemble, Girl Group Chicago, a big band orchestra, and as a solo musician. She has accompanied the Music in the Parks competition and has participated as a theatre pit musician in various Chicago productions for Porchlight Music Theatre, Stage Door Fine Arts, and The Neo-Futurists. Renée composes and performs her own music and is currently recording her second solo album.
